Potential Free Agents Destinations for Taylor Hall:

Taylor Hall has been through many obstacles throughout his career. His career began in Edmonton where he was able to find success with a mediocre franchuse. Despite this, Hall struggled to find consistency in his game, specifically seen in his poor performance in the 2014-15 season. His 2014-15 season was nothing like his rookie season when he won rookie of the year, winning the Calder Trophy, as the first overall pick in the 2010 draft. While spending six seasons in Edmonton, he was able to make a name for himself as a bonafide top six forward on any given team. Despite his improvements in an Edmonton the Oilers uniform, the team had difficulties determing his placement in the lineup. This trend continued in New Jersey, as his time there was also erratic.

After winning the Hart Trophy in the 2017-18 with a stellar season, Taylor Hall has not been the same. He caught the injury bug last season. Consequently, his team struggled immensely and fthe Devils finished last place in the Metropolitan Division. Similarly this year, up until the trade deadline, the Devil's season as a whole was abysmal. Of course Taylor Hall was not solely responsible for the turmoil in New Jersey. The Devils, from management all the way to the players struggled to put a well rounded team on the ice all year.

Luckily for Taylor Hall, he was traded to Arizona at the trade deadline of this year, a team in the playoff hunt. Since being traded to the desert, Taylor Hall has been a good addition to a team that has been the epitome of an underperforming offensive team. He tallied twenty-seven points in thirty-five games which would translate to a full season of sixty-three points. Depending on what people believe his ceiling to be as a player, one could agree that sixty-three points would've been a successful season for a player like Hall.

As seen throughout his career, Taylor Hall's fluctuating stats has made it difficult to determine where he stands in this league. Can he attain his status as a top player in the league when he won the Hart Trophy in 17-18? Or, is he merely a borderline all star player depending on his team? Fortunately for hockey fans, these questions have yet to be answered and will therefore make it an interesting summer for Taylor Hall and his future contract negotiations.

Interesngly enough, it will be exciting to see where Hall chooses to play ashel is the type of player that needs to be in the right situation. He is a different type of an all star player. He is more of an independent player and does not fit with other players as as well as other all star players do. As a result, it is hard to determine which team would be the right fit.

Undoubtebly, Taylor Hall will have many options this summer. However, because of the stoppage in play and loss in revenue due to COVID-19, it is to be seen whether or not it will have an affect on the money he earns this summer. Nonetheless, Taylor Hall does have the option to stay with his current team:

The Arizona Coyotes:

Taylor Hall said has been on record saying that he has enjoyed his time in Arizona. The Coyotes will need to play around with their cap to ensure that he gets the necessary money, however Hall has been successful enough to demand a high salary. If the Coyotes want to continue to ascend and keep pace with upper echelon teams like Las Vegas and Edmonton, they should definitely consider keeping Taylor Hall for the long term. He would definetely help conceal their ongoing offense woes.

Colorado Avalanche:

The Avalanche have been linked to Taylor Hall all season. They were reportedly interested in the winger at the tread deadline and Colorado seems to be a great fit. Taylor Hall has only been to the playoffs once in his career and of his potential suitors, the Avalanche pose the biggest threat to winning the Stanley Cup in the near future. With the depth and talent on the Avs roster, Taylor Hall would be a great fit on either of Nathan Mackinnon's or Nazem Kadri's left side. Additionally, the Avs have lots of cap space to make a deal work. This might be the most ideal spot for a player who is craving any type of playoff hockey.

Montreal Canadiens:

The Canadiens have been notoriously known as the team who fails to lure in high profile free free agents each summer. Unfortunately, they have not been successful in recent years. Infact, just in the past few off-seasons, the Canadiens have failed to sign Matt Duchene, Sebastian Aho, Jake Gardiner and even failed to get a meeting with all star John Tavares when he signed with their archrival: the Toronto Maple Leafs. However, Taylor Hall has already been in a high pressured Canadian market once before and he seems to be a player that would thrive under the large hockey market of Montreal. The Canadiens have the cap space to facilitate a deal and he would be an awesome fit in their top six forward group. With the addition of Taylor Hall the Canadiens would appease aging all-stars Carey Price and Shea Weber who are impatiently craving for some meaningful hockey.

New York Islanders:

Taylor Hall is already familiar with the Metropolitan area with his time with the Devisl and the Islanders are a team that are quickly ascending. Additioanlly, General Manager Lou Lamoriello is always looking to add star power up front. With about 3 million dollars in cap space, the Islanders could use some help offensively (capfriendly.com) . During the trade deadline, the Isles were able to add a great two way center in Jean Gabriel Pageau. However, despite this key addition, the Islanders have remained the 22nd best team in goals per game this season. The Islanders already have a strong team structure and defensive core. For the past two seasons, their elite defense has given them a chance to win every night. If the Isles want to take the next step offensively, Taylor Hall could put this team in a very optimal spot to compete for the Stanley Cup this upcoming season.

Calgary Flames:

The Calgary Flames have been desperate for some help at the left wing position for quite some time now. General Manager Brad Treliving has been very active in recent memory and is always very active in transactions with other teams. Taylor Hall on a second line with Mickael Backlund and Matthew Tkachuk would be a massive boost to their solid roster. Hall is already familiar with the Canadian Market and would love returning to his former team's archival: the Flames. If Taylor Hall is looking for a good opportunity to win with the right fit, Calgary would definitely be a viable option.
